Overview

Old Dhaka is one of the most intense, colorful places in Asia, and the easiest way to experience it is with a local guide. You’ll ride a cycle-rickshaw through 400-year-old lanes, cross the Buriganga River by wooden boat, and visit Mughal and colonial landmarks. Along the way, try street food your guide trusts.

Highlights

  • Ride a cycle-rickshaw through Old Dhaka’s crowded bazaars
  • Take a wooden boat across the Buriganga from busy Sadarghat river port
  • Visit Lalbagh Fort, Ahsan Manzil (the Pink Palace) and the Star Mosque
  • See the Armenian Church and the craftsmen of Shankhari Bazar
  • Taste local street food and sweets, chosen by your guide
