Travel FAQ

Planning your trip to Bangladesh? Here are answers to the questions travelers ask us most. If yours isn’t here, message us on WhatsApp.

Do I need a visa for Bangladesh?

Most visitors need a visa. Depending on your nationality, you may be able to get a visa on arrival at Dhaka airport or need to apply in advance at a Bangladesh embassy. Visa rules and fees change, so please check the latest requirements with your nearest Bangladesh embassy or the official Bangladesh immigration website before you travel. Once you book, we send you an invitation letter and booking confirmation to support your application.

Is Bangladesh safe for tourists?

Bangladesh is known for its warm, curious and hospitable people. Like anywhere, it’s sensible to take normal precautions. On our tours a guide is with you at all times, we use trusted drivers and hotels, and we follow local news and adjust routes if needed. We also recommend checking your own government’s travel advice before you travel.

Is it suitable for women traveling alone?

Yes, many solo women travel with us. Your guide handles transport and interactions, and you can ask us about a female guide when you book. Modest clothing covering shoulders and knees helps you feel comfortable and is appreciated locally.

When is the best time to visit?

November to March is cool and dry, and is the best time for most tours, including the Sundarbans. April to May is hot. June to October is the monsoon season: green and beautiful, and the best time for Ratargul swamp forest, but expect heavy rain.

How do I pay?

We confirm the deposit, payment options and when the balance is due in your personalized quote, before you book. Prices are quoted in US dollars.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation terms are included in your written quote, so you know them before you pay. We will always help you reschedule if your plans change.

What money should I bring?

The local currency is the Bangladeshi taka (BDT). ATMs are common in cities but rare in rural areas. Bring some US dollars or euros in cash to exchange, and a card for ATMs. Your guide will show you where to withdraw or exchange money.

Will I have mobile internet?

Yes. We can help you buy a local SIM card at the airport with your passport. Coverage is good in towns but weak in the Sundarbans.

Is the food safe? Can you cater for my diet?

Bangladeshi food is delicious and often spicy; we can ask for milder dishes. We choose clean, trusted restaurants and provide bottled water. Vegetarian, vegan, halal and allergy needs can be arranged; tell us when you book.

Do I need vaccinations?

Please see a travel clinic or your doctor 4–8 weeks before your trip for advice on vaccinations and malaria precautions.

Do you offer airport pickup?

Yes. Airport pickup is included on all multi-day tours, and we can arrange it for day tours too.

Can you customize a tour?

Absolutely. All our tours are private, so we can change the dates, length, pace, hotels and places to suit you. Message us on WhatsApp or use our contact form.

Should I tip?

Tipping is appreciated but never required. If you are happy with your guide and driver, a tip at the end of the tour is a welcome thank-you.
