Overview
Rangamati is the “Lake City” of Bangladesh: green hills rising from the turquoise water of Kaptai Lake, the country’s largest man-made lake. It is home to the Chakma, Marma, Tripura and other indigenous communities, whose culture shapes the town’s markets, temples and food. On this private 2-day tour you’ll explore the lake by boat, visit a Buddhist monastery and waterfall, and meet local communities with a guide who knows the area.
Highlights
- Private boat trip across Kaptai Lake to islands, waterfalls and lakeside villages
- Walk the famous Rangamati hanging bridge
- Visit Rajban Vihara, the region’s most important Buddhist monastery
- See Shuvolong waterfall (best in the monsoon and just after)
- Taste indigenous food at a lakeside restaurant
